About trylii

Nothing to do? Good.

That restless feeling, the one where you're bored but can't think of what to do, is actually a good sign. It means you're ready for something new.

trylii exists for that exact moment. Not to lecture you about productivity or self-improvement. Just to help you find something genuinely worth getting into.

What trylii is

trylii is a discovery platform for activities, crafts, and creative pursuits. We've built a growing library of detailed guides, covering everything from sourdough baking to laser engraving, from backyard camping to board game nights, so you can read about something properly before deciding if it's for you.

Each page covers what the activity actually involves, how to get started, what it costs, how much time it takes, and exactly what you need. No fluff. No ten-step programmes. Just honest, useful information.

We write in plain, jargon-free English, because the curiosity to try something new doesn't belong to one country or one culture.

What trylii is not

trylii is not a blog. We don't publish opinion pieces, trend roundups, or personal essays about someone's journey with sourdough. The guides are written to be useful, not to be read.

trylii is not a course platform. We don't sell anything, teach anything, or require you to sign up for anything. Everything on the site is free to read.

And trylii is definitely not a self-help site. We're not going to tell you that taking up watercolour painting will transform your life. Maybe it will. Maybe it'll just be a nice thing to do on a Sunday afternoon. Either way, that's enough.

Why we built it

Most activity guides on the internet are either too shallow ("just get a kit and try it!") or hidden behind paywalls and course sign-ups. Finding honest, detailed, free information about whether a specific activity is right for you is harder than it should be.

We wanted to fix that. So we built a library of guides that treat you like an adult, with real cost estimates, honest time commitments, genuine skill requirements, and specific product recommendations rather than vague suggestions.

The result is a place you can actually use to make a decision, not just read for entertainment.

How it works

Browse by category or search for something specific. Each guide is structured the same way:

Product links in the "What you need" section go to Amazon, where relevant. These are affiliate links: you pay the same price, and we earn a small commission that keeps the site running. Full details on the disclosure page.

A growing library

trylii currently covers activities across 10 categories: from home making and kitchen crafts to outdoor adventure, digital arts, and things to do with others. The library is growing regularly.

If there's something you'd like to see covered, you can suggest it via the contact page. We read everything.

Something for everyone

Whether you have ten minutes or ten hours, a big budget or none at all, want to do it alone or with other people, there's something on trylii worth trying.

Go find your next thing.
